Most of the time, ringing someone answers the question. Zone Tick is built for the times it doesn't — when nobody can pick up, and waiting isn't an option.
Nobody calls you to say it happened. The phone is usually across the car, and the person may be unable to reach it.
→ Crash detection alerts your circle automaticallyTexting "home safe" only works if someone remembers. If something goes wrong, there's no message at all.
→ Live location and one-tap SOS inside your circleSometimes reaching for a phone isn't safe, or your hands simply aren't free.
→ Shake to activate, or say a keyword out loudAn older parent living alone. No news isn't always good news, and you don't want to nag.
→ Inactivity monitoring and gentle daily check-insIn the app now, since version 2.0.123. Screens drawn by the app itself, with example names.
Your family’s faces and how far away they are, today’s route, your safe places and who just arrived — all around one big SOS button.
Play the bot at five levels, invite someone from your family, or play anyone in a rated game with your own rating. Players you are matched with see only a random name like “Player 4821”, and there is no chat.
A group for your suburb or city, with local safety reports, friends and personal chats with friends. Nobody in Community sees your account, phone number, email or where you are. 18+ only, and free.
Premium learns Home, Work and School from where you spend nights and weekdays, and keeps them accurate. Rename or remove them any time; one you delete is not added back.
Thirty-six safety features across four areas, plus chess. Every sensitive one ships switched off — turn on only what your household actually wants.
Real-time position shared only inside the private circle you join with an invite code. Never public, never sold.
Everyone on one map with their profile picture, plus navigation straight to a family member.
Draw a zone by tapping corners on the map — no coordinates. Get told when someone arrives or leaves.
Premium saves the route you take through the day and marks where you stopped, for the last 7 days. You choose who can replay it. On the Free plan nothing is uploaded — today’s route stays on your phone as a preview.
English, Spanish, French, Portuguese and Simplified Chinese — the whole app, not just the front page. Your phone picks the language.
Alerts your circle instantly with your live position attached, so nobody has to ask where you are.
Emergency texts reach the contacts you nominate even if they've never installed the app.
Alert specific people rather than everyone, for situations that call for discretion.
Reads the accelerometer and gyroscope to spot an impact. Sensitivity tunes from 2.5G to 25G.
Listens for "help" and phrases you add yourself — in short timed sessions, never always-on.
Pedometer plus GPS speed, escalating only after 15 seconds of real running. Walking and driving are ignored.
Flags a prolonged absence of movement, so nobody goes unnoticed for too long.
A shake opens a one-minute safety session. The rest of the time the microphone stays off.
Nothing fires instantly. Every detection gives you seconds to say "I'm fine" first.
A two-second tap to tell your circle you're okay, with a mood and short status if you want.
Group and one-to-one chat built in, with message retention you control per conversation.
Quiet updates when someone reaches a safe place, starts driving, or starts running.
Real screens from the app as it is today. Tap any of them to see it larger.
Four steps, once. After that it runs quietly in the background.
Zone Tick asks for sensitive permissions because safety features need them. Here's exactly what we do with that trust — the full detail is in our Privacy Policy.

No. The microphone only turns on for features you enable, and only during a short timed session — started by shaking your phone, by a voice assistant shortcut, or by a detected crash or run. It stops automatically after about a minute, and never activates during a phone call. When it isn't in a session, it is off.
Only the members of the private family circles you choose to join, plus any emergency contacts you nominate when you trigger an SOS. Location is never public, never listed, and never shared with advertisers or data brokers. Live location is shared with your whole circle on every plan, free included. The free limit is how many people a single SOS alerts — two — and Premium alerts everyone in the circle.
Rather than summarise it vaguely, our Privacy Policy lists every single data type in a table — what it's used for, whether it's optional, and how long it's kept — along with all twelve of our service providers. It also covers your rights under GDPR, CCPA and the Australian Privacy Act.
Your account records, messages, circle data and location are stored in Google Cloud's United States region today. Photos and recordings you upload are stored in Google Cloud's Sydney region, and the server functions the app and this site call run in Sydney too. We're moving the database to Sydney, and the privacy policy will say so when it's done.
Yes. Some features depend on device hardware and OS permissions — for example, background location behaves differently on iOS, and step-based run detection needs a pedometer. The app tells you when a feature isn't available on your device rather than failing silently.
It reads your phone's accelerometer and gyroscope and triggers above a force threshold you can tune yourself, anywhere from 2.5G (very sensitive) to 25G (severe impacts only). It is a helpful signal, not a guarantee — phones get dropped and real crashes get missed. Every detection gives you a cancel window before anyone is alerted.
Zone Tick is built to avoid always-on sensing. The microphone runs only in short sessions, and detection arms on a shake rather than listening continuously. Live location sharing is the heaviest feature — if battery matters more than continuous tracking, share location only while you need it.
Definitely not, and most families don't. A common starting point is SOS, notifications and emergency contacts. Add live location once everyone is comfortable, then crash or voice detection later. Our family safety guides walk through sensible setups.
Yes. Choose a plan above and complete secure checkout with Stripe — Apple Pay and Google Pay appear on supported devices. Use the email linked to your Zone Tick account and Premium unlocks automatically. You can also subscribe inside the app via Apple or Google billing.
Subscriptions bought in the app are cancelled in your App Store or Google Play account settings; web subscriptions are managed from the account menu on this site. To delete your account entirely, use Settings → Account → Delete Account in the app, or our account deletion page. You get a 30-day restore window, then everything is permanently erased.
Accounts must be created by someone aged 13 or over. A parent or guardian can set up and manage a circle that includes a minor in their care. Where we know a user is under 18, we don't serve personalised advertising to anyone, at any age — all ads in Zone Tick are non-personalised.
Alerts and live location need a connection. With mobile signal but no data, the SMS backup can still text your emergency contacts — Android sends it directly once you have allowed SMS, and on iPhone the app opens the message for you to send. With no signal at all nothing can get through until the phone reconnects, which is one reason Zone Tick is not a replacement for emergency services. Your location keeps being recorded on the phone while it is offline and syncs when the connection comes back.
Delete your account in the app’s settings or on our account deletion page. Your data is kept for a 30-day restore window, then permanently erased. Some things go sooner: location history is never kept longer than 7 days, and leaving Community removes your Community profile, friendships, chats and posts at once. Cancelling a subscription deletes nothing — you simply go back to the free plan.
Accounts are for people aged 13 and over, and a parent or guardian can set up a circle that includes a teenager in their care. Nothing is hidden from the person sharing: Zone Tick is an ordinary app on their phone, they can see who is in their circle, and they decide who can replay their day. Ads are non-personalised for everyone, and Community — local groups and chats with people outside the family — is closed to anyone under 18.
A group chat only works when someone types. Zone Tick is for when nobody can: one tap sends an SOS with your live location, crash and inactivity detection can raise the alarm by themselves (after a cancel window), a shake opens a minute to say “help”, and a check-in tells your family you’re fine without starting a conversation. It has a family chat too, and your location stays inside your private circle.
No — and we won't pretend otherwise. Zone Tick is a supplementary tool that depends on your phone, its battery, its sensors and a working network connection, and it can fail. In a life-threatening situation always call your local emergency number: 000 in Australia, 911 in the US, 999 in the UK, 112 across the EU.
