π¦πΊ About Zone Tick
Zone Tick started from a question families ask every day: are the people I love okay right now? A phone call answers it most of the time. It doesn't answer it after a car crash, during a missed check-in, or in the moment someone can't reach their phone at all.
We built Zone Tick to cover those moments β without turning a safety app into a surveillance product. Every sensitive feature is off until you switch it on, location is visible only inside the circle you choose, and we make money from subscriptions and non-personalised ads rather than from selling anyone's data.
Zone Tick is designed, built and maintained by one person. If you email support, he's who replies.
Akshay Kumar
Founder β Zone Tick Pty Ltd
π Carnegie, Victoria, Australia
Akshay founded Zone Tick after looking at the family safety apps already on the market and disliking the trade-off they asked for: hand over your family's location history, and trust it won't be passed on. Zone Tick is his answer β live location that stays inside a circle you control, safety detection that runs on your own device, and no selling of personal data. He builds and maintains the whole product: the Flutter app for iOS and Android, the backend on Google Cloud, and this website.
A registered Australian company, not an anonymous app listing.
Zone Tick bundles the safety tools families actually use into one app. Some are free, some are Premium β see Pricing for the split.
Real-time position inside private family circles you create or join with an invite code.
See circle members with their profile pictures, and navigate straight to someone.
Draw a geofence by tapping corners on the map β no coordinates. Get alerts on arrive and leave.
Positions queue up while you're out of signal and sync the moment the connection returns.
One tap to find and route to the closest station during an emergency.
Optionally get told when a family member opens your live location. Transparency both ways.
Alerts your default circle instantly with your live position attached.
Alert specific people rather than everyone, when the situation calls for discretion.
Emergency texts reach the contacts you nominate even if they don't have the app installed.
Alerts always go to the right circle, no matter which one you happen to be viewing.
Accelerometer and gyroscope based, with sensitivity you can tune from 2.5G right up to 25G.
Pedometer plus GPS speed, escalating only after 15 seconds of real running. Walking and driving are ignored.
Listens for "help" and phrases you add yourself, in short timed sessions β never always-on.
Flags a prolonged lack of activity so nobody is left unnoticed for too long.
A shake starts a one-minute safety session. The microphone stays off the rest of the time.
Every detection gives you a few seconds to cancel before a single person is alerted.
Group and one-to-one messaging, with message retention you control per conversation.
Share a quick status and how you're feeling, so nobody has to guess.
Gentle updates for arriving at or leaving a safe place, starting to drive, or starting to run.
Up to a minute saved on your own phone when a session starts. Auto-deleted after 7 days.
A few screens from the app running on a real device.
Safety features need sensitive permissions, so we'd rather be straight about the trade-offs than bury them in a policy nobody reads.
The full detail β every data type, every service provider, retention periods, and your rights under GDPR, CCPA and the Australian Privacy Act β is in our Privacy Policy.
Four steps, about ten minutes, and your household is covered.
Step-by-step articles are in our Family Safety Guides. For the full feature breakdown see Features.
No support ticket queue, no outsourced call centre. Email goes straight to Akshay.
β οΈ Zone Tick is a supplementary safety tool, not an emergency service. It depends on your phone, its battery, its sensors and a working network connection, and it can fail. Always call your local emergency number β 000 in Australia β in a life-threatening situation.
