Zone Tick started from a question families ask every day: are the people I love okay right now? A phone call answers it most of the time. It doesn't answer it after a car crash, during a missed check-in, or in the moment someone can't reach their phone at all.
We built Zone Tick to cover those moments — without turning a safety app into a surveillance product. Every sensitive feature is off until you switch it on, location is visible only inside the circle you choose, and we make money from subscriptions and non-personalised ads rather than from selling anyone's data.

Akshay founded Zone Tick after looking at the family safety apps already on the market and disliking the trade-off they asked for: hand over your family's location history, and trust it won't be passed on. Zone Tick is his answer — live location that stays inside a circle you control, safety detection that runs on your own device, and no selling of personal data. He builds and maintains the whole product: the Flutter app for iOS and Android, the backend on Google Cloud, and this website.

Pedometer plus GPS speed, escalating only after 15 seconds of real running. Walking and driving are ignored.

Listens for "help" and phrases you add yourself, in short timed sessions — never always-on.
Inactivity monitoring
Flags a prolonged lack of activity so nobody is left unnoticed for too long.
Shake to activate
A shake starts a one-minute safety session. The microphone stays off the rest of the time.

How we think about privacy
Safety features need sensitive permissions, so we'd rather be straight about the trade-offs than bury them in a policy nobody reads.
- Off by defaultLocation, microphone and motion features stay off until you deliberately enable them.
- The mic is not always onIt runs in short, timed sessions triggered by a shake or a detected event — and never during a phone call.
- Recordings stay on your phoneEmergency audio is stored locally and auto-deletes after 7 days, unless you choose to share one.
- No data selling, everFree-plan ads are non-personalised: ad networks are not permitted to build a profile from them, and never receive your location, audio or messages.
- Delete whenever you likeAccount deletion is in the app and on this site, with a 30-day restore window before permanent erasure.
