Parental controls
Pair your child’s Android phone or iPhone with a one-time code; parents can use either phone. Free: harmful websites are blocked and you are told if protection is switched off. Premium adds your own blocked apps and sites, daily limits, bedtime, “ask for more time” and screen time. On a child’s iPhone, the child must be in your Apple Family Sharing, apps are chosen on their phone, and screen time shows as milestones rather than minutes. Zone Tick never sees which site, video or link was opened.

A safer SOS
Cancelling an SOS while it is still sending now stops it on every phone, and text messages to your emergency contacts go out even without internet.

Shake for help, with its own switch
Shake to listen for “help” has its own switch in Settings → Ways to call for help, free for everyone and on by default. Choose how hard a shake must be: Light, Moderate (the default), Strict or Hard. Only a deliberate back-and-forth shake counts, so walking, picking the phone up or putting it down no longer sets it off.

A search box at the top of Settings finds any setting in your own words — “fall”, “log out”, “bigger text” — in all five languages, and sections have plain names like “Who gets my SOS” and “Where I’ve been”.

Zone Tick uses your phone’s own text size, up to 130%, and the home screen’s cards were made larger and plainer to match.

Your location, only for who you choose
We rechecked every place a location is kept. Only the people you choose in each circle can see where you are, and a change applies straight away. Family notices that include a place go only while you are sharing, and only to circles where everyone can see you.
